I finally had a little time this weekend to get some Fall decorations up. Canadian Thanksgiving is less than a month away and I want to have everything all spruced up for friends and family coming to visit.
The first thing I did was swap out the Summer Wreath, with something warm and colourful for the new season.
And it’s nice to come home to it too. Using supplies found at a local craft store, I was able to make it all for under $12, with some leftover supplies for future projects.
To start out with, I picked up a large dark brown grapevine wreath, wired orange plaid ribbon and faux leaves.
I wrapped the piece around the wire and hot glued it closed at the back of the ribbon. Then I just fluffed up the sides of the bow and glued the whole thing onto the ribbon loop on the wreath.
Using the hot glue gun, I stuck an assortment of leaves around the grapevine. I used a popsicle stick to press them down and to make sure I didn’t burn myself.
Faux Leaves $5.10 ($1.70 x 3 packets)
Ribbon $ 3.60
TOTAL: $ 11.70
It feels much better to have some of the seasonal decor swapped out. I’m looking forward to sharing more Fall decor later this week!
